ARTIST OF THE MONTH
WASSILY KANDINSKY 1866 - 1944
Wassily Kandinsky enjoyed both music and art. He was once a law professor,
but gave it up to pursue art - his true passion. Back when he studied art, when painting -
the more realistic the better. Kandinsky was known for painting in a different way - realism was not
important, he painted abstract designs that showed the impact of line, shape, and color. He also make
connections to how design can portray mood and feelings. Be sure to look out for the Kindergartener's
first project which will showcase the life and work of Wassily Kandinsky.
"The artist must not only train the eye, but also the soul."
-Wassily Kandinsky
